Call for Donations to Community Christmas Appeal

Council will continue this thirty-year tradition that supports local community organisations who provide tangible help to those in need during the Christmas period, including pastoral care and financial assistance.

This year’s Appeal is seeking monetary donations that will support two recipient organisations, the Tully Support Centre and Innisfail Youth and Family Care Inc.

Mayor Mark Nolan said Council will ignite the spirit of generosity by pledging $2,000 toward the Appeal.

“Christmas is a time for joy and generosity, but as we are all too aware, it can be a challenging time for many people in our community,” said Mayor Nolan.

“The Community Christmas Appeal is our way of making a positive impact by coming together to support those who may be facing difficult circumstances during this festive season.”

The Appeal will accept donations until Monday 18 December 2023.

Donations can be made by bank transfer to Cassowary Coast Regional Council BSB 064818 Account number 00090047 with reference XMASAPP- (donors name). Alternatively, donations can be made over the phone by calling 1300 763 903, or in person at Council’s Customer Service Centres.
