Guidelines for interacting with Council via Social Media

Welcome to the Cassowary Coast Regional Council’s social media community! Our online platforms are here to keep you updated on local projects, share public notices, celebrate our region with photos, and issue important media statements.

We also love seeing your adventures around the region—don’t forget to tag us using #cassowarycoast!

To keep our online space safe, friendly, and welcoming for everyone, we’ve created some simple guidelines.

Keeping It Positive

We want our social media channels to be a positive and respectful space for everyone. Offensive language, trolling, bullying, or naming and shaming won’t be tolerated.

If a comment or post breaks these rules, it will be removed. Repeated violations may result in being blocked from our page.

Our Social Media Guidelines

Our social media pages aim to share Council initiatives, events, and news, and provide a space for community discussion and idea-sharing. To keep the space welcoming, please follow these guidelines:

  • Be respectful: No harassment or threats.
  • Avoid offensive content: Don’t target others based on race, age, gender, religion, or beliefs.
  • Keep it clean: Refrain from using offensive language.
  • Don’t spam: Avoid excessive comments, promotions, or unrelated content.
  • Protect privacy: Do not share personal details.
  • Stay on topic: Focus on Council services, programs, or relevant inquiries.
