Guidelines for interacting with Council via Social Media
Welcome to the Cassowary Coast Regional Council’s social media community! Our online platforms are here to keep you updated on local projects, share public notices, celebrate our region with photos, and issue important media statements.
We also love seeing your adventures around the region—don’t forget to tag us using #cassowarycoast!
To keep our online space safe, friendly, and welcoming for everyone, we’ve created some simple guidelines.
Keeping It Positive
We want our social media channels to be a positive and respectful space for everyone. Offensive language, trolling, bullying, or naming and shaming won’t be tolerated.
If a comment or post breaks these rules, it will be removed. Repeated violations may result in being blocked from our page.
Our Social Media Guidelines
Our social media pages are here to:
- Share information about Council initiatives, events, and news.
- Provide a space for community discussions, questions, and idea sharing.
To keep this space welcoming, please follow these guidelines when posting:
- Be respectful: No harassment, abuse, or threats toward others.
- Avoid offensive content: Refrain from comments or images that target someone’s race, age, gender, religion, political beliefs, or other personal attributes.
- Keep it clean: Don’t use obscene or offensive language.
- Don’t spam: Avoid repeated comments, commercial promotions, or unrelated content.
- Protect your privacy: Don’t share personal details like phone numbers, addresses, or email addresses.
- Stay on topic: Focus your posts and comments on Council services, programs, or relevant enquiries.
If these rules are broken, moderation will take place, and posts may be removed.
