King Tides and Strong Winds Forecast

The Cassowary Coast community is advised that king tides are forecast from Friday 8 March through to Monday 11 March 2024,

Residents who live along the exposed coast are encouraged to take necessary precautions for the tide to be higher than forecast. The combination of very high tides and strong winds may increase the risk of beach erosion due to wave run-up.

Residents and travellers to beach areas should avoid parking vehicles in low-lying areas.

If you need to travel, please plan your journey with high tide times in mind.

Remember, "if it's flooded, forget it".

Driving through salt water with a vehicle is not suggested.
