Stinger Nets Temporarily Removed for King Tides
Beachgoers! Please be advised that all stinger nets are being temporarily removed in preparation for this weekend's king tides and strong winds
Community members should remain cautious when entering beaches as stinger season has not yet concluded. You can minimise your risk of getting a nasty sting by always swimming in stinger nets where provided, wearing protective clothing, and not swimming when beaches are closed.
The re-installation of stinger nets will be considered early next week, and we ask you to follow this page or Council's website for updates.
We thank the community for your patience and remind everyone to be safe in the forthcoming weather:
Residents and travellers to beach areas should avoid parking vehicles in low-lying areas.
If you need to travel, please plan your journey with high tide times in mind.
Remember, "if it's flooded, forget it".
Driving through salt water with a vehicle is not suggested.
