January 15, 2021 DUSTIER THAN EVER- MORNING MELODIES KICKS OFF IN 2021 WITH A YEE-HAW!

Cassowary Coast Regional Council is proud to kick off the 2021 season of Morning Melodies with a tribute to one of Australia’s country legends - Slim Dusty.

The Morning Melodies session will feature artist Chris Cook and the Chris Cook Band and be in town on Tuesday 2 February 2021.

Division 3 Councillor and Community and Culture portfolio holder Councillor Trudy Tschui said she was excited for Morning Melodies to re-commence in February.

“Our community loves the Morning Melodies events and Council is proud to announce that we have been able to reschedule most of the shows that were impacted last year due to covid.

“Slim Dusty is an Australian icon and I respect his contribution to Australian life and his story-telling abilities. Chris Cook actually wrote three songs for Slim Dusty- When the Country's Wet, Diggin' a Hole in my Guitar and Rollin' down the Road- and his connection to this Aussie legend means this show is one not to miss.

“Chris Cook peppers his performance with stories and memories of his years of friendship with Slim and the songs being performed at this show are done so with the approval and endorsement of Joy McKean and the Slim Dusty Foundation in Kempsey.

“Covid restrictions means that we aren’t able to offer morning tea so I would encourage attendees to bring along a drink or cup of coffee to enjoy whilst watching the show,” Councillor Tschui said.

Tickets can be purchased via Try Booking at https://www.trybooking.com/BODAD

Tickets are $20. Please note that due to covid restrictions no tickets will be sold on the door.

Show date is Tuesday 2 February 2021 from 10:30am with doors opening from 10:00am at the Innisfail Shire Hall. Tickets are strictly limited and Council encourages pre-purchasing tickets early to avoid disappointment.
