18 October, 2022- MURRAY STREEY, TULLY- PROJECT UPDATE ONE

Back

In September, Council commenced important works to upgrade Murray Street, between Richardson Street and Curtis Street intersections.

Council is also committed to providing further updates to the community during construction; this is Tully-project update one.

At the start of works, Council undertook pre-construction building condition surveys of nearby properties and structures.

Drainage works are in progress and the watermain replacement work is now scheduled to start.

For the safety of workers and road users, changed traffic conditions remain in place while the works are carried out. A section of Murray Street, between Richardson Street intersection and Curtis Street intersection is expected to remain closed until mid-December 2022, subject to weather and site conditions.

The project will renew vital infrastructure in Tully, improve drainage resulting from heavy rainfall, and access for heavy vehicles and cater for future growth of the area.

We thank the community for their patience whilst these works are being undertaken.
