Kids Go Wild at Cassowary Coast Libraries

Crocodiles, snakes, lizards and birds have taken over Cassowary Coast Libraries with kids going wild for an animal encounter activity which attracted a record crowd today.

The first event of its kind to be held at the Libraries, Roaming Wild Animal Encounters entertained a captive audience of 120 people in Innisfail with further events scheduled for Cardwell and Tully this week.

Cassowary Coast Councillor for Community and Culture Trudy Tschui said the event’s success is indicative of the libraries’ importance in supporting young families in the region.

“Roaming Wild Animal Encounters is a delightful experience where children can learn and get hands on with exotic animals,” Cr. Tschui said.

“Our community hub was full to the brim with smiling young faces and parents who were grateful for the indoor activity provided by Council.

“This event is just one of many school holiday activities being held at Cassowary Coast Libraries, including movies, digital workshops and art sessions.”

Roaming Wild Animal Encounters will be held again at the Cardwell Library tomorrow, and in Tully on 11 January.
