Economic Recovery Hubs in Tully & Innisfail 18 & 19 January
Flood-impacted Cassowary Coast businesses and sport and recreation clubs who need help accessing funding and support services in the wake of ex-TC Jasper, are encouraged to attend Economic Recovery Hubs in Innisfail and Tully next week.
Council will host the Economic Recovery Hubs at the Tully QCWA Hall on Thursday 18 January from 1pm to 6pm, and the Innisfail Disaster Coordination Centre on Friday 19 January from 8am to 1pm.
Cassowary Coast Mayor Mark Nolan said the Hubs will be attended by state and federal representatives who can assist with applications and advice for business recovery grants and loans.
“Across the eight Cassowary Coast Community Recovery Hubs hosted to date, we’ve facilitated support for hundreds of individuals but there’s still so much more to do,” Mayor Nolan said.
“People have appreciated the opportunity to discuss their issues with council, state and federal agencies and community service providers face to face as many have struggled with the online process.
“Supporting our businesses and sporting clubs to return to full operations is a priority for Council. We encourage everyone who’s impacted to come and see an advisor at the Economic Recovery Hubs next week.”
Small businesses impacted by ex-TC Jasper and the related flooding in Far North Queensland are being urged to apply for disaster assistance grants of up to $50,000. For affected sport and recreation clubs and non profit organisations, grants of up to $50,000 are also available.
