Celebrate Library Lover’s Month this February!
From e-Books to e-Audiobooks, e-Magazines, movies, TV series and music, Cassowary Coast Libraries are celebrating Library Lovers this February, with a focus on digital library apps.
The libraries will host e-Library workshops at all library branches to introduce a suite of free digital resources available with a library membership. The workshops taking place from February 13 to 16 will offer hands-on experiences to help attendees get the most out of their devices and library memberships.
“I always associated libraries with physical books, and it wasn’t until I started to explore some of my library membership benefits that I realised how many amazing digital apps I can access,” said Logan
“Since I discovered the e-Resources I’ve become a library lover and saved money on streaming services.
“I highly recommend anyone not already familiar with the libraries’ suite of digital resources attend the workshops and get the most out of their membership.”
In conjunction with the workshop series, Cassowary Coast Libraries has announced an e-Review competition with prizes for e-Book and e-Audiobook reviews. e-Reviews must be submitted by Saturday 24 February, with winners to be announced and prizes presented Monday 26 February.
Wednesday 14 February at Innisfail Library is All Abilities Movie Day, with Next Chapter Book Club members and NDIS customers invited to attend one of two free feature film screenings of "Champions”.
All library lovers are invited to enter a Facebook photo exhibition titled “Then & Now” by recreating old photos and sharing to Facebook using the hashtag #FFCCL and tagging @cassowarycoastlibraries. Submissions for the ‘Then & Now’ online photo exhibition will close Monday 26 February.
For more information or to book a place at one of the e-Library Workshops or All Abilities movie day please call 1300 366 616, visit cassowarycoast.qld.gov.au/libraries, or head down to your local library.
