COUNCIL OPENS $40K COMMUNITY GRANT ROUND 15 JULY
Cassowary Coast Regional Council will launch its 2024/25 community grants program Monday 15 July with $40,000 on offer for community projects and initiatives in the first of three rounds for the financial year.
The Community Grants and Support Program aims to make a significant impact for local community groups and individuals by offering grants of up to $5,000 per project.
Councillor for Community, Culture and Liveability, Trudy Tschui said she is looking forward to enabling more community organisations and individuals to bring their projects and events to life.
“The grants are designed to support community groups and individuals dedicated to fostering a connected community through various projects, initiatives, and events.” said Cr Tschui.
“We have made some changes to this year's program following a review of previous rounds and community feedback to combine program streams to make them more accessible and inclusive.”
The Community Projects and Initiatives Program Stream will allow individuals and groups to apply for grants aligned with one or more outcome criteria, supporting initiatives and projects that benefit the community socially, culturally, economically and environmentally.
Information sessions will be conducted by Council’s Community Services team, starting this Thursday. These sessions aim to assist community groups and individuals seeking advice on applying for community grants or determining the eligibility of their projects or initiatives for funding.
