Mission Beach Town Centre revitalisation

Works location: David Street – Stormwater Outlet Construction

Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes to advise that contractors RMS Engineering & Construction will be commencing the following works as part of the Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation:

Works:            David Street - Stormwater Outlet Construction

Dates:             Monday 22 July to Friday 23 August [subject to delays]

Work times:   7am to 5pm

Description:   Site preparations are due to take place Monday 15 July to Monday 22 July, including Traffic control implementation, sediment and erosion controls, site survey and set out as well as tree clearing and vegetation management.

From Monday 29 July to Friday 16 August, work will be carried out on the stormwater outlet structure. The project will include demolition of the existing outlet, excavating the site, and placing interlocking, water-dissipating rocks in front of the new outlet. Following this, sand stabilisation will be implemented, and a new stormwater outlet structure will be constructed.

Temporary Impacts as a result of these works include

  • Alternate traffic, parking and pedestrian movement will be in place
  • No parking spaces will be temporarily lost within the works location
  • Business access will not be impeded, however construction traffic may limit access to turning area
  • There will be no disruptions to services as a result of these works
  • Potential noise pollution due to machinery
