BBQs across the Cassowary Coast

Back

Council's provision of over 30 public-use BBQs is a valuable service for the community, offering an opportunity to foster a sense of togetherness and providing convenient spaces for shared meals and outdoor gatherings.

A big thank you to those who consistently leave the BBQs clean after use, contributing to a more enjoyable experience of these communal spaces. Sadly, a small minority can sometimes impact the accessibility of these facilities by leaving them dirty and unusable.

A clean grill isn't just a matter of aesthetics – it's crucial for public health. By keeping these spaces free from left behind food, grease, and other items, we discourage potential breeding grounds for unwanted guests like insects and rodents. Furthermore, a well-maintained BBQ space curtails the growth of bacteria and germs, ensuring the well-being of all who gather at these locations.

Our dedicated Council team undertake a cleaning schedule to ensure these facilities remain in top-notch condition. However, the role of the community is paramount in ensuring these BBQs are left in good order for the use of others. It's a simple but impactful gesture to clean up after each use.

As you continue to enjoy Council provided BBQs, we kindly request that you extend your kindness to your fellow residents and visitors by leaving them in the condition that you found them. A quick clean-up after each use ensures that the next person can utilise a clean area just like you did.
