CALLENDAR PARK DRAINAGE WORKS

Back

Cassowary Coast Regional Council is set to commence the critical Callendar Park drainage project on 24 June 2024.

Despite several weather delays, Council has awarded a successful tender to MGN Civil.

The major maintenance project estimated at $3.9 million will replace roughly 60 metres of ageing pipes. The installation of new pipes is projected to extend the area's service life while simultaneously reducing ongoing maintenance expenses.

Due to the project's location, a temporary road closure will be implemented from 24 June 2024 until late November 2024 along a section of Fitzgerald Esplanade, near the Graham Academy of Dance. Fear not, as alternative routes via Campbell Street or Emily Street will be clearly marked to guide road users and pedestrians. We kindly ask everyone to plan their journeys accordingly and to show due respect to the signage and barriers in place.

The full project works are expected to take about six months concluding in late November 2024, subject to weather and site conditions.

Minor impacts to existing services and increased truck and construction noises throughout the work site should be anticipated.

The project is fully funded by Cassowary Coast Regional Council.
