Community Notice: Fitzgerald Esplanade – Changes in Traffic Conditions

Cassowary Coast Regional Council is excited to announce upcoming improvements along Fitzgerald Esplanade, shaped by the valuable insights shared by our Innisfail community during consultation sessions this year. These updates are part of Council’s ongoing commitment to creating safer, more connected, and engaging pathways that support a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable community.

Council has developed a plan to redesign the road network along Fitzgerald Esplanade. The section of Fitzgerald Esplanade between Emily Street and Campbell Street will transition to a one-way traffic system. The existing car parking will remain with a new pathway being introduced, connecting residents to existing pathways and allowing for safe pedestrian access into town.

These enhancements are designed to encourage walking, foster active lifestyles, and ensure a safer and more vibrant community space.

Works are scheduled for completion in January 2025, with this section of the road network remaining closed.

Please see below the changed traffic conditions.
