*UPDATED - 12PM - Cardwell Water Supply & Conservation Update

Due to recent weather impacts in Cardwell, Council advises the community to conserve water. At this stage, water supply levels remain uncertain, and we appreciate your cooperation in reducing usage where possible.

Cassowary Coast Regional Council will provide further updates as needed.

Council is urging the Cardwell community to stay safe as severe weather continues to impact the region.

Closures & Services:

  • Cardwell Transfer Station, Library, and Pool are closed until further notice.
  • Power Outage: Ergon Energy has turned off power in some areas for safety.
  • Self-service sandbags are available at SES, Gregory Street, Cardwell

Council urges the community to please conserve essential supplies such as Water and Food as conditions evolve.

Safety Reminders:

  • Avoid unnecessary travel – Do NOT drive through floodwaters.
  • Stay clear of rivers, creeks, and stormwater drains – Water levels can rise rapidly.
  • Prepare for extended disruptions – secure important items, and check on neighbours.
  • If you need to leave, find a safe place with family or friends and ensure your neighbours are safe and supported.
