PROJECT UPDATE: Mission Beach Clump Point Boating Infrastructure Project

Back

PUBLIC ACCESS TO BOAT RAMP CLOSED COB 25 SEPTEMBER TO MID-NOVEMBER 2020.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) wishes to advise the following project update for the Mission Beach Clump Point boating infrastructure project.

Construction works on the project are nearing completion with the in-water works now due for completion in mid-late September 2020.

The works were divided into two elements with two separate contractors. Once the contractor for element two – The Jetty Specialists disestablishes large cranes and machinery from the site, the element one contractor MGN will return to complete their work on the in-water components as well as the landside works including sealing the car-trailer park.

The main purpose of this update is to advise the boating community of a necessary short-term closure of the boat ramp to allow the entire project to be completed safely and efficiently.

During the closure period the contractor will facilitate commercial access to the boat ramp, however public access to the ramp will be closed between end of September (COB 25/9/2020) and mid-November 2020, confirmed dates to be advised.

The onshore works are planned for completion in mid-November 2020, weather permitting.

Signage will be updated at the boat ramp to advise boaties of the temporary closure.

TMR thanks you for your patience during the works.
