March 31, 2021- RESIDENTS TO BE CLIMBING THE WALLS WITH EXCITEMENT

Back

The community can add a new activity to their fitness routine with a boulder wall now installed on Fitzgerald Esplanade, Innisfail.

Cassowary Coast Regional Council Councillor Jeff Baines said if you have a little thrill-seeker or daredevil in you or even just looking for a new way to increase your fitness levels, then the new boulder wall is a must-do.

“The boulder wall is designed to provide fun, low-level safe climbing for beginner climbers to the more experienced climbers. At 2.4 metres high and 4.5 metres wide, the wall is sure to offer hours of entertainment and fun.

“Soft matting has been installed around the wall to ensure safety. I’ve been down and tried it out and can confirm it is a total body work out.

“The wall not only works out your body but also your mind. Each climbing route is like a puzzle, which uses mental coordination to plan your next move and strategize where to go to from there.

“With the skate park, playground and shared pathways also on the esplanade- there is something on offer for everybody.

The Fitzgerald Esplanade boulder wall installation is an initiative of the Queensland Government.
