SEPTEMBER 27, 2021 - Japoon Road: Temporary closure of Little Liverpool Creek Bridge

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will temporally close Little Liverpool Creek Bridge located on Silkwood – Japoon Road between Torrisi and Walter Lever Estate Roads. These works are part of TMRs regular bridge maintenance program to ensure the continued safety and reliability of the bridge.

The works involve removing and replacing the entire aged timber bridge decking and running planks on this single lane bridge before a new ply deck and asphalt surface is laid. Due to the age and design of the bridge, and the complexity of the rehabilitation, works cannot be complete without the bridge being fully closed.

The bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic and pedestrian activities from 8am Monday 27 September to Friday 6 November 2021, weather permitting.

The bridge crew will be on site Monday to Saturday between 8am and 6pm. The bridge will be closed for 24-hours during the working schedule as well as on Sundays.

A detour onto Walter Lever Estate Road will provide a convenient alternate route while the bridge closures are in place.

Variable Message Signs (VMS) and detour signage will be in place in strategic locations to ensure the community is aware of the changed traffic conditions.
