Back

The Cassowary Coast Regional Council is pleased to announce the commencement of construction from Monday 24 July to build a new all-abilities toilet block near the beach and caravan park in Etty Bay.

This exciting project aims to enhanced accessibility and convenience to residents, visitors, and holidaymakers.

Councillor and Tourism portfolio holder Renee McLeod said the new all-abilities toilet block will be strategically located next to the existing toilet block to ensure easy access for individuals with disabilities, their families, and caregivers.

“The addition of this facility aligns with our commitment to inclusivity and ensuring that everyone can enjoy the beauty and recreational opportunities the popular coastal town has to offer. The proximity to the beach and caravan park will make it a valuable asset for beachgoers, tourists, and those staying at the nearby caravan park.”

The new all-abilities toilet block near the beach and caravan park is expected to be completed by mid-November, subject to site and weather conditions.  The existing toilet block will remain open for use during works. Due to the nature of the works, there may be short intermittent impacts to the water supply. Advance notice will be provided to the caravan park prior to water interruptions.

This project is fully funded by the Cassowary Coast Regional Council.
