Household Flood Damage Items – Temporary Waste Transfer Station in Cardwell

Cassowary Coast Regional Council has established a Temporary Waste Transfer Station at the Pump Track carpark on Brasenose Street for Cardwell residents impacted by flooding to safely dispose of damaged household items and disaster-related debris to ensure homes are safe, habitable, and accessible.

Open from: Tuesday, 4 February 2025
Location: Pump Track carpark, Brasenose Street

This temporary waste transfer station is ONLY for disaster related items from the North and Far North Tropical Low, not general waste.

Important: Some insurance providers advise residents not to move household flood waste until assessments are completed. Please check with your insurer to confirm if removal costs are covered before disposing of items.

The Cardwell Transfer Station remains closed due to flooded roads.

Council appreciates the community’s resilience and cooperation during this challenging time. Thank you for your patience as we work towards recovery.
