Cardwell Transfer Station – Accepting Flood Waste Disposal

Council understands that residents within the Cardwell and surrounding areas are still cleaning up after the floods and is committed to supporting the community through disaster recovery.
The Cardwell Transfer Station is still accepting eligible household flood waste items from the “North and Far North Tropical Low” free of charge until Sunday 9 March 2025. This service is available only for flood effected household related items and not for general waste.
Important Reminder: Some insurance providers recommend that residents wait to move household flood waste until assessments are completed. Please contact your insurer to confirm if removal costs are covered before disposing of items.
