Mentoring for Growth Day - DSDIP

Mentoring for Growth (M4G) is a free Queensland Government program that connects small business owners with experienced volunteer mentors for tailored mentoring sessions. These sessions offer practical insights and guidance to help address business challenges or explore growth opportunities.

Eligibility

To register for an M4G session, your business must:

• Have an ABN

• Be based in Queensland or have significant Queensland operations

• Be currently operating

• Have a specific business challenge or opportunity to discuss

How mentors can help

M4G mentors bring a wide range of business experience and can assist with:

• Cash flow

• Growth strategies

• Marketing and sales

• Business development

• Finance

• Human resources and workforce management

• Cybersecurity

• Export and investment

Note: Mentors do not provide professional legal, financial, or HR advice.

Types of sessions

• Start-up session (45 minutes) – For early-stage businesses, with one mentor

• Mentor chat (60 minutes) – For established businesses, with two mentors

• Mentor panel (90 minutes) – For high-growth businesses or those expanding their workforce, with 3–4 mentors

How it works

• Sessions are delivered online

• Complete the registration form with as much detail as possible

• Option to upload a business plan

• A facilitator will guide the session and take notes

After the session

You will receive a summary of the session, helpful resources, and contact details for your mentor(s). You may follow up with mentors, but there is no obligation to engage further.

Booking another session

Follow-up sessions can be booked, ideally six months later, though you may not have the same mentor.
