Cassowary Coast Regional Council is set to hold a Contractor Briefing Session to assist local contractors when applying for Council capital works projects.

The Contractor Briefing Session will be held on Thursday 9 December at the Mission Beach Resort in the Function Room, starting at 6pm.

Planning and Regional Development portfolio holder Nick Pervan said the capital works program will support local contractors, encourage employment and be a welcome injection into our local economy.

“The Contractor Industry Briefing will provide information on Council’s upcoming Capital Works program for the second half of this financial year.

“It will look to promote a shared set of values that allows the business community and Council to work together to effectively achieve a common purpose.

“The briefing showcases our commitment to use local contractors and suppliers, ensuring these businesses are ready to take advantage of the future opportunities available right here in Cassowary Coast.

“The evening’s presentation will also focus on building business capabilities, touch on what a successful tender looks like and discuss what working with Council entails,” said Councillor Pervan.
