Works To Be Undertaken At Foxtail Avenue, Port Hinchinbrook

Back

Cassowary Coast Regional Council will be undertaking repairs to an undermined culvert slab on Foxtail Avenue, Port Hinchinbrook.

The work will commence on Thursday 13 April and will occur during low tide. Works include the construction of a rock wall (approximately 2 metres in height), filling of an existing dispersion hole with rock and pushing rock under the existing slab. A concrete top layer will then be poured level to the existing slab.

During this time, Council will also carry out renewal works on Trade Winds Drive by filling an eroded channel with rock and re-laying two pipes which have dropped into the channel.

Road users should be aware that the bridge has been reduced to one lane with minor delays expected. During the works, approximately three bays within the boat ramp car park will be closed.

Council apologises for any interruptions this may cause for road users and we are working to complete the works as soon as possible. We thank the community for their patience whilst this work is completed, and we ask that road users take extra care during the works period.
