Our region is home to two remarkable World Heritage areas: the Wet Tropics Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. These iconic landscapes are not only globally treasured but are deeply embedded in the lives, stories, and traditions of the First Nations people who have cared for these lands and waters for millennia.
As you journey through our stunning rainforests, swim in our oceans and billabongs, and explore our vibrant communities, we ask that you join us in caring for the people, places, and cultures that make this region so special. We all have a part to play, whether you're here for a day or for a lifetime. Together, we can protect the fragile ecosystems and cultural heritage that make this part of the world so unique.
Please travel safely as you experience the beauty of the Cassowary Coast, and remember to treat these sacred landscapes with the respect and care they deserve. Show consideration to the people and wildlife you encounter, and be mindful that your actions help ensure that these environments will be here for future generations.
So come, explore, enjoy and help us care for this extraordinary region. We can't wait to show you around and invite you to be part of its ongoing story—one that blends nature, culture, and community.
