Please be advised that self service sandbags are available at the following locations across the Cassowary Coast:

Tully SES, 3 Murray Street, Tully - Bags and Sand available - SES Volunteers available

Tully Heads SES Shed, Acacia Close (next to community hall)

Mill Rd, Mourilyan (Old Mill) – Bags and Sand available

Leichhardt St, Goondi Bend (Footy field top area) – Bags and Sand available

Frogs Hollow, South Mission Beach – Bags and Sand available

Cnr Margaret and Cassar Road, Silkwood – Bags and Sand available

Cardwell SES, Gregory Street, Cardwell - Bags and Sand Available

How to Fill and Use Sandbags Properly:

  1. Fill bags halfway to three-quarters —this makes them easier to stack and more effective.
  2. Fold the top over and place the bag with the folded side facing the water.
  3. Stack in a staggered brick pattern for the best seal.
  4. Use plastic sheeting under the sandbags for extra protection.
